How can I get RID of the Trash?

April 4 I purchased a Compac Presario 5240 (Compac was a suggestion of a friend of mine). After setting it up, the First problems was mouse didn't work. Called the Tech, "Did you install the mouse with the computer on?" What? The problem was resolved.

Should have listened to my Intuition....

April 4,and 2 hours later...The Monitor went black, and no response whatsoever. Called Tech Support: a New Monitor was going to be ordered. No, the Monitor wasn't the problem since I'd used a friends' to check it out. Called the Tech Support again, told the problem again, and he treated me as a Blonde~!~~ Okay, I am a Natural one, but he didn't know that. After using my computer knowledge skills (Tone of Voice) he ordered a new motherboard (video card was the problem).

Should have listened to my Intuition....

April 17, the M/B arrives, is installed and No Action from the Monitor. The Tech calls the Tech Support and orders a new M/B. Another 3 days of waiting.

You guessed it: Should have listened to my Intuition....

Being a Personality A Type, I go to CompUSA, buy a 5070 Unit, and Whahla!! The unit doesn't go past the Compac sign on the monitor. Mouse doesn't work, Nothing happens. I called Tech Support... Again.... The ONLY way I could reach a Tech was using the case number on the 5240. Short Version: I Listened to my Intuition, returned it and purchased a HP instead. No Problems whatsoever!!

I should have listened to my Intuition the very first time and returned the 5240 to the store the next day and purchased a HP instead. When I inquired about returning it to the store with the 3rd Tech Support, he said "the warranty has already begun and wouldn't be accepted". What he was really saying is, "You're Stuck!"

Once this Compac 5240 is fixed, it will not be used for various reasons. Should have listened to my Intuition.
