Compaq DOES suck!!! From an ex-employee

Wow, where do I start my story........(I was an actual Compaq employee, NOT
a TAG employee!!!)

I was a DEC employee many years ago (at the Alpharetta, Georgia site) and after working there a
year, quit those backstabbing bastards. DEC products are (were?) worse than Compaqs. I know
that may be hard for some of you Compaq owners to believe, but it's true. That should have thrown a flag up, Compaq buying a crappy company, but they mainly did it for DEC's service contracts, NOT for their products. They stopped making DEC products when Compaq bought DEC but they will support them until the warranties expire (you poor Digital Equipment owners, good luck on getting parts or service after that!!!)

But back to the inside dirt on Compaq.....

Then on October 1998, I saw an ad that Compaq was hiring and thought, what the hell, it couldn't
hurt to work there. Well, on October 1999, one of my managers (they have several managers in
each department, Compaq is fat and rich, they can afford it at the customers expense!) fired me.
His excuse was I took UNPAID time off, which Compaq does not like you to do (so what you
bastards!) I had used all my PAID time off, which we accumulate during our time there. Alot of
the managers there know of or have heard of this site but they don't want the employees to go
here. I think they are afraid we might learn MORE truths about Compaq.

Unfortunately, Compaq has a program called WebSense that prohibits employees from going to
sites that have nudity or profanity. CompaqSucks.Com is also on the forbidden sites list, is it because of the word SUCKS ??? So we employees have to view it from home. Bummer. I haven't read everything here about Compaq, but so far, EVERYTHING IS TRUE ABOUT COMPAQ!!!

COMPAQ SUCKS!!!

Presarios are probably the worst systems Compaq sells and then the DeskPro line is SLIGHTLY
better (crap is STILL crap!!!). DO NOT get a Matrox video card in it. Compaq must be buying the defective cards from Matrox because over 75% of these cards fail when you turn on the PC.  This is typical of the (lack of) quality of parts in Compaq systems, no matter what the name brand is; whether it is Western Digital, Seagate, Maxtor hard drives, Matrox, ATI video cards, etc., Compaq buys the low end and defective parts, builds your PC and then takes your money saying you have a top quality PC. That's BULLSHIT!!! Sooo, if you want to bitch to someone, how about calling or writing to Compaq's latest CEO and president, Michael Capellas. FYI, all Compaq employees email addresses are: firstname.lastname@Compaq.Com So, if you know their name, you can email them!
