Frontpage Story #52

Ok get this. I am stuck with this piece of shit Compaq Presario - I call it a "SHITPAQ".

Of course it is a slow piece of shit, and is made of most no-name things. The CD-Rom, Ram, video card, everything, is all shitty and no-name and CHEAP!

First off, the motherboard is a piece of shit too! It has 3 ISA and 1 PCI slot. It came with a piece of shit 2d graphic card, and I wanted to get Voodoo. But I couldn't because the f*ckers attached their shitty graphics card to the motherboard and my only PCI slot was already being used for a network card. Ok...that REALLY pissed me off. So I thought I'd open it up again and see if maybe I can get a new motherboard....NOPE. This is how the system is. You slide the hood off the machine.

Everything is all scrunched in there in a f*cking blackhole. Their motherboard (on my model, atleast)
the board is attached to a panel which you have to take out all your goddamn ISA and PCI cards to slide out and open. Oh lookie what I found out. I can't upgrade my RAM. Compaq's are barely upgradable because the company is made up of stupid fuckers who think they can cheat ppl outta money.

Secondly, the CD-Rom mine came with is a no-name brand piece of shit that doesn't support digital extraction (as needed to encode good mp3s). Also, I can't even run Linux on this piece of shit because the way the system is set up.

Oh yeah and you wouldn't believe what I had to go through to set up my slave hard drive. It took me a few DAYS just to get the hard drive controllers and everything else to work properly with my machine. Afterwards, the power management (suspend, etc) fucked up my drives. One would go off, one would stay on, then when it woke it fucking froze.

And their tech support is worth shit!! I call up, having serious problems with my machine. They tell me "Oh your 1-year warranty has expired, and we can't offer you tech support. You can renew your warranty for about 90 dollars"...MY ASS...one year warranty? WTF?! 90 bucks to renew?! I just said "F*ck you you suck working for such a piece of shit company" .... basically my call got disconnected...oh well, whoopdi fuck. Ok so the company has POOR techinical assistance, and anyways, when I HAD tech support available, they never knew what the hell to do...I usually ended up solving it myself.

Another thing, is this thing fucking crashes 24/7! It always freezes because it was so loaded with all their stupid software that supposedly enhances the system--my ass!

I am sure I can think of many other things to complain about. But to put it briefly

COMPAQ SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Get a Gateway or Dell, ANYTHING BUT COMPAQ.

See Gateway's good...you always have good technical assistance and plus, if you go on their special plan, you can trade it for another in a few years or so...

So if you have a Compaq...I feel sorry for you, as I do for my self for ever letting my parents buy such a piece of shit.
