Frontpage Story #56

I recently got a persario 1275 as a birthday gift, and have been too busy to really install anything(AHEM)(OS) on the unit, I recently discovered it had a winmodem........., so I decide I want to return the unit UP, its out of its 30 return warranty, so I call compaq, LET THE BATTLE BEGIN.

The first person I speak with tells me they didnt intend for me to be running any other os than windows on the perSORRYoH line, and that I should just use windows, and that I would be fine.... FINE ????? I did not intend to use this machine for windows, and I told him that, he goes what are you going to use... dos ??????? NT ????????? I told him Linux and Be, he goes well, see that designed for windows 95 sticker... the machine is, sorry, the only thing you can do is get a placement. I asked for a supervisor who fed me the same shit, I hung up. Call 2 went straight to a supervisor, and got hung up on. calls 4-6 weren't eventful, but call 7 broke the camel's back, I told the guy DO not hang up on me, I will cost you a LOT of money, and he goes, I am not sure what I can do, I am escalating this call to the open research department, and they will contact you in 5 to 7 days, They have not called me back yet, and I got the same only intended for windows bullshit in my emailbox. I dont want the machine I WANT MY MONEY or a reimbursement for a modem.
