Former Disgruntled Compaq Employee's Resignation Letter

October 20, 1999


To whom it may concern:

    This letter is to inform you that I am resigning my position as Customer Service Technician at Sykes Enterprises Inc. Just to let you know, I do not think very highly of your company and I will do everything I can NOT to recommend a job there to anyone.

    First of all I am very disappointed in the lies that go on around the site. Managers lie to their team members and even the highest people there lie. Take for instance when our attendance policy was changed. We were all informed that our new attendance policy was
?lmost exactly like that of St. Anthony? Hospital.? Well I new from the beginning that was a lie because my mother works for them and she showed me there attendance policy and it is not even close to the same. THEY HAVE SICK PAY.

    Second of all I always showed up for work 15 minutes early and I took the time necessary to fix people
? problems without giving them a quick fix and blowing them off.  I think a lot of Compaq? policies are ridiculous. Why not fix things right instead of giving stupid little work arounds that only last for a couple days.

    Lastly, I am VERY disappointed in the way I was treated before I went on maternity leave as well as the way I was treated when I was on leave. Before I went on leave no one, not even the great Mike Starbuck, explained to me what I was to do to get my benefits. He told me
?othing. They will just send you a check every Friday for 6 weeks or until you return to work.? I waited a month and never received a check. When I called asking where it was, Mike informed me to call the insurance company and ask for it. The insurance company said they had been waiting for me to call them and tell them I had delivered my baby. NEVER was I told I had to contact the insurance company. I think he is the worst Human Resources Manager I have ever seen.

    I am very disgusted in your company because while I was waiting for benefits all of my bills ended up going to collections because nobody would accept my explanation for them not being paid. The only thing I have to show from this is a very bad credit report now. Thank you for ruining my credit. I think this company is worthless and it should give up right now. A company like this cannot succeed when they are nothing but a bunch of liars and cheaters. A company that treats their employees like crap is nothing.   If I had the money and I new it would do any good I would sue this company for damages done to me. I will never work for Compaq or Sykes again. I
rather live in a cardboard
box before I stoop that low. Thank you for your time. You were probably just wasting time anyway.
