Frontpage Story #9

I have owned three Compaq computers in the past. ( 2 deskpro, 1 armada ) I was pleased with them. On 7-28-98 I purchased my first new computer: a Presario 4814. When I got it home, the cd drive and video capture didn't work. So, I called the tech support people. They sent someone out the next week to fix it. When I got home from work; instead of having a fixed computer, I had a dead one. The tech left a note saying that the new cd drive shorted out the power supply. I took the computer back to the store and traded for a better model. Boy was I wrong ! I paid the difference and upgraded to a Presario 4660. When I set everything up the DVD drive didn't work !! Once the DVD drive was fixed another problem showed up. I have atleast three fatal error's a week, and five ( or more ) illegal operation error's a day. Two common error code's are: Kernal32.dll and "unknown module". Oh; almost forgot, my DVD drive would disappear also. So far Compaq has replaced Two motherboard's, sent me a new "updateded" restore cd. I have downloaded two or three different softpaks. I call tech support atleast twice a week. Will someone tell me who to talk to about getting Compaq to refund me. I don't want anything else to do with Compaq !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
