Damn...my fucking Soyo SY-K7V Dragon Plus! Motherboard is THE BIGGEST HUNK OF SHIT I HAVE EVER LAID MY EYES ON. Soyo is a reputable company? My ass! Everybody says they kick ass, however, my board begs to differ. Anyway, here is what happens.
I FINALLY get a new PC case...after the hell of my old one. First it's damaged, then the USPS loses it, and I have to pay out of my own pocket to buy a new one. I install all my stuff (minus my old 8x patch CD-RW.) Funny. It won't POST. So I try unhooking shit one at a time...no go. I clear the CMOS. *GASP* It works! Why such a routine upgrade could keep it from posting is beyond me. So, upon boot, CMOS Checksum Error. Fuck. I have called up Soyo on this issue before, so I know what to do. I select "Load Optimized Defaults." *Angelic Singing in Background* it's gone! Good. Now to set all my shit back up. I set up all my stuff, and it won't post again. So I clear the CMOS. Now, I try my shit one at a time to see what is happening. Great. It's the Front Side Bus. It won't run at the correct speed of 266, nooo, only at 200. So, now my CPU runs at the speed of a 1.2GHz AMD Athlon instead of an AMD Athlon XP 2000+. Wonderful! Have fun making shitty boards Soyo! Now UT2003 runs like shit.
