I was 21 when I got my first enema. My folks apparently didn't do enemas because I never saw an enema syringe at home when I was growing up. It was always laxitives if needed. I was at college when I first got an enema. After a weekend of partying and eating poorly, I felt really, really bad and was laying around the apartment feeling like I was going to die. My roomate said, "You need an enema to wash the crap out of you." I said something like she must be joking and she repeated it and said she was serious. She said she had one herself earlier and felt much better after it. I had seen her bag hanging in her bathroom a few times but I assumed she was douching. She said she would get it ready for me, and feeling as bad as I was, I was ready to try anything.
She got everything ready, told me to lay on the floor and she hung the bag from a dresser drawer knob. She made me lube myself and stick the nozzle in myself but she controlled the flow.
I don't remember it as an especially pleasant experience, and I don't even know how much water I took that time, but I do remember that I felt much better as soon as I emptied all of the water and crap out of me.
I borrowed her bag a couple of times after that and soon I was at the drugstore buying my own.
